Our mission
Most real estate search was designed for first-time buyers in their thirties. It optimises for speed, volume and urgency — the opposite of what someone planning the next twenty years of their life actually needs.
55plus.community exists to fix that. We focus on one audience and serve it properly: adults 55 and older who are looking at active-adult communities, age-restricted neighbourhoods and senior-friendly homes, along with the adult children who are often helping them search.

What we're building
55plus.community is a search and discovery product built specifically around age-restricted and active-adult housing. Rather than treating "55+" as a filter bolted onto a general listings site, we treat it as the entire product:
- A dedicated 55+ listings database. We maintain our own database of active-adult and senior-community properties, refreshed on a regular schedule so what you see reflects what is actually on the market.
- Search built for how older buyers decide. Single-level layouts, low-maintenance living, accessibility, HOA fees, and proximity to healthcare and family — surfaced up front instead of buried in a listing description.
- Plain-language guidance. Practical information about how age-restricted communities work, what the fees cover, and what to ask before committing.
How we source listing information
Property information on this site is aggregated from third-party real estate data sources and public listing feeds. We work to keep it current and accurate, but listing data changes constantly — prices, availability and property details can move faster than any aggregator can refresh.
Anything you see here should be confirmed with the community, the listing agent or the seller before you rely on it in a purchase decision. We say more about this in our Terms of Service.
